Structured evidence library

Ingredient Evidence Explorer

Explore common uses, formulation context, limitations and references for 11 skincare ingredient categories.

What the explorer covers

The explorer groups 11 common skincare ingredient categories. For each one it summarises typical uses, how the ingredient is usually formulated, where the evidence is limited, and the references behind the summary. It is a reading aid for comparing what is known about an ingredient, not a product recommendation.

How to use it

  1. Pick an ingredient category you see on a label or are considering.
  2. Read the limitations alongside the uses: many findings come from small studies, specific concentrations or laboratory models.
  3. Open the references when a decision matters, and take questions about prescription treatment to a clinician.

Limits

Evidence summaries describe groups of people in studies, not how your own skin will respond. The explorer does not check products, concentrations or combinations.
